Biblical Context
The dragon persecutes the woman after the birth of the man-child; she is given wings to flee into the wilderness where she is nourished for a time, and the earth swallows the flood cast out by the serpent.
Neville's Inner Vision
Think of the dragon as the restless habit of fear that arises whenever you awaken to a greater I AM. The woman is your awakening consciousness, the man-child the new idea of your divine nature. The two wings of a great eagle are your imagination returned to a higher state, allowing you to move into a wilderness of inner nourishment rather than remaining bound to old limitations. The flood cast from the serpent is simply thoughts of threat; the earth swallowing the flood is your mind refusing to feed on fear and instead consuming it through awareness. Providence here is not external rescue but the steady alignment of your inner I AM with truth, transforming persecution into protection. In this drama you are never at the mercy of a distant foe; you are the author, and the rescue happens as you assume the state of I AM here and now.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare, I AM here now. Imagine the two wings lifting you into a nourishing inner wilderness, then see the flood of fear be swallowed by the earth as your awareness holds steady.
