Inner War of Revelation

Revelation 12:12-17 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Revelation 12 in context

Scripture Focus

12Therefore rejoice, ye heavens, and ye that dwell in them. Woe to the inhabiters of the earth and of the sea! for the devil is come down unto you, having great wrath, because he knoweth that he hath but a short time.
13And when the dragon saw that he was cast unto the earth, he persecuted the woman which brought forth the man child.
14And to the woman were given two wings of a great eagle, that she might fly into the wilderness, into her place, where she is nourished for a time, and times, and half a time, from the face of the serpent.
15And the serpent cast out of his mouth water as a flood after the woman, that he might cause her to be carried away of the flood.
16And the earth helped the woman, and the earth opened her mouth, and swallowed up the flood which the dragon cast out of his mouth.
17And the dragon was wroth with the woman, and went to make war with the remnant of her seed, which keep the commandments of God, and have the testimony of Jesus Christ.
Revelation 12:12-17

Biblical Context

Revelation 12:12-17 presents a heavenly warning and a pressure-filled earthly scene, where fear presses but inner power safeguards the faithful. The imagery invites an inner journey of endurance and fidelity that translates into practical steadiness.

Neville's Inner Vision

To me, this is not a battle in the outer world but a drama of consciousness. The dragon represents fear and the pressure of time pressing upon awareness; the woman embodies the true self, carrying the seed of the Christ within. Her wings are your two faculties—imagination and faith—that lift you above the serpent’s flood into a wilderness of nourishment, a mental sanctuary where your needs are supplied by your inner law. The flood is a torrent of doubting thoughts; the earth swallowing it shows your outer world can align with your inner decree when you hold to the divine pattern. The remnant who keep the commandments of God and have the testimony of Jesus are those who persist in the inner law, the I AM, and testify to that presence through lived conviction. Remember: the revelation is a guide to mastering the day by aligning awareness with a fixed, spiritual state that shapes all scenes you encounter.

Practice This Now

Imitate the wings of a great eagle now: close your eyes, assume you are already safe within your inner wilderness, nourished and free. Whisper, I AM, and feel the inner power shaping your next moment.
