Biblical Context
John is told to measure the temple and its altar, leaving the outer court unmeasured. Two witnesses are empowered to prophesy in humble, steadfast service.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within you the temple is your state of consciousness; the altar is pure devotion to the I AM; those who worship therein are your steadfast feelings of reverence. The angel who speaks to you bids you measure this temple, not the outer court, for the outside is the dream of Gentiles, the sense that life is separate from you. The two witnesses are two enduring faculties, truth and perseverance, like olive trees and candlesticks standing before the God of the earth. When you attend to them, they prophesy in sackcloth, humble, unwavering utterance that precedes true manifestation. If anyone would harm them, their sacred fire of word dissolves resistance; they have power to shut heaven so rainfall of old beliefs ceases, and to turn waters to blood, meaning your perception shifts to life-giving streams from your inner source. They can smite the earth with plagues as you will, by shifting imagined conditions with a new assumption. This vision teaches you that your inner state governs your outer world; measure, empower, and dwell in the reality you choose.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, declare 'I am the temple,' and measure your inner state as your reality. Then envision the two witnesses lighting your inner space, and rest in the conviction that your chosen inner decree governs your outer world.
