Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The passage is a greeting from John to seven churches in Asia, invoking grace and peace from God and from the divine Spirit(s). It presents grace and peace as the inner atmosphere to be claimed and lived.
Neville's Inner Vision
John’s greeting to seven churches is spoken to you in the present. Grace and peace are not distant favors granted by a future event; they arise from your own awakened consciousness. The phrases 'him who is, and who was, and who is to come' point to the I AM—the steadfast awareness that is timeless, always present. The seven Spirits which are before his throne symbolize seven steady states of mind you can cultivate within: discernment, mercy, courage, joy, clarity, patience, and faith. When you identify with the I AM and entertain these inner powers, grace becomes your acceptance of life as it is, and peace becomes a settled quiet that no outer circumstance can erase. The message invites you to shift from reacting to conditions to assuming the reality of your inner state. In Neville's practice, you revise any lack by declaring I am graced; I am at peace; and you imagine the world from that elevated vantage point—the throne of awareness within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Close your eyes, breathe into your chest, and declare I am graced and at peace now. Feel the I AM grounding you as the source of those states.
