Revelation 1:2

Biblical Context

Revelation 1:2 speaks of bearing witness to the word of God, the testimony of Jesus Christ, and all things seen. The emphasis is on inner consciousness as the source of reality.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 1:2 speaks of bearing record—the inner witness—of the word of God, and of the testimony of Jesus Christ, and of all things that he saw. In the Neville idiom, the record is your state of consciousness: what you hold true within, you publicly present without. The word of God is the living truth of I AM present in you, the awareness that cannot be shaken. The testimony of Jesus Christ is the inner agreement with that truth, the Christ within you whose witness remains constant amid shifting appearances. And all things that he saw are the inner visions born from your assumed state; they are not supernal facts crossing space, but the phenomena your mind creates by feeling and belief. Therefore this verse invites you to guard your inner record: to persist in the remembrance that you are the witness, you are the Word, and you are the seer. When you align with that, prophecy becomes present-tense assurance, and promise ripens into lived faith, your outer world reflecting the steadfastness of your inner testimony.

Practice This Now

Imaginative act: Sit quietly and declare I am the Word of God and I bear witness to the Christ within me. Then visualize a scene that confirms this inner record and feel it as real now.
