8Let the floods clap their hands: let the hills be joyful together
Psalms 98:8

Biblical Context

Rivers and hills symbolize inner praise; the verse invites you to align your inner state with joy and order, so creation mirrors that harmony.

Neville's Inner Vision

Observe that the floods and hills are not external phenomena but your inner climate: floods are the cleansing, surging emotions; hills are steadfast convictions and reverence. When you assume the feeling of a world clapping its hands and mountains singing for joy, you are rehearsing the truth that I AM, your awareness, is the creator of events. The verse asks nothing of nature apart from your willingness to inhabit a state of perfect rhythm with life. In this state, every movement of imagination becomes a note in a chorus of order; the vigorous currents and the enduring ridges are your thoughts and feelings aligned with the God within. Therefore, worship is not a ritual outside you but a practice of imagining a reality that already exists in your consciousness. When you dwell in that image, the outer world appears joyous and ordered, because you have become the condition by which it manifests.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling of rivers clapping and mountains rejoicing within. Rest in the conviction that you are the awareness ordering the scene and repeat 'I am the joy and order of creation' until it feels true.
