The King Within
Psalms 98:6-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 98 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm invites a joyful noise before the Lord, the King. It also declares that the sea, the world, and all who dwell in it respond to that praise.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the inner listener, this psalm is not a call to appease an outside ruler, but a reminder of the sovereignty you already possess as I AM. 'Before the LORD, the King' speaks of the throne of awareness within you. The 'trumpets and cornet' are the sounds of your imaginal acts—your deliberate, joyous assumptions. When you dwell in the feeling that you are already crowned, you issue a royal vibration that travels through your subconscious and awakens energy previously silent. The sea roars and the fullness thereof symbolize the subconscious abundance and vast possibilities ready to be stirred by your decree. The world, and they that dwell therein, are the actors in your inner theater; as you insist on your kingly status, they align with your inner atmosphere, reflecting the order you affirm. The verse asks you to shift from being moved by outer instruments to being the instrument of inner harmony. So the outer world becomes a mirror of your inner sovereignty, and every event speaks your name.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and imagine trumpets sounding before you as you affirm I am the King. Dwell in that royal mood and feel it real; revise any sense of lack until your outer life reflects your inner crown.
