Psalms 97:3-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Plainly, the psalm shows God as a purifying fire and light that purge enemies and reveal righteousness. The people, Zion and Judah, rejoice at His judgments.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse by verse, I hear the inner trumpet: God is not distant power but the I AM which you are aware of. The fire going before Him is the surge of consciousness moving through your inner field, burning away every claim of separation and every image you have worshiped as 'other.' The lightnings that enlighten the world are your imaginal acts—your assumption, revised until it feels true—that illuminate the hidden corners of your life and make the unseen visible to your inner sight. The hills melting like wax speaks of fixed beliefs and stubborn habits dissolving when the Presence of the Lord—your own waking consciousness—enters. The heavens declare righteousness; your inner weather speaks through clarity and alignment rather than fear. Do not fear the idols you once served; let them be confounded by the simple act of recognizing that the God you worship is within, the I AM that you are. When Zion hears and rejoices, it is the consciousness now fully awake to its rightful judgments and glory.
Practice This Now
Assume the I AM presence now; in imagination, picture a purifying fire going before you that dissolves every false image of limitation. Feel the warmth and let your judgments align with your inner glory, resting in the truth that the Lord is within.
