Psalms 96:6-7

Biblical Context

Psalm 96:6-7 speaks of God's glory and the inner sanctuary where strength and beauty reside; it invites all peoples to honor Him and recognize their own sacred worth.

Neville's Inner Vision

Think of the line 'honour and majesty are before him' not as outward pomp, but as your inner states. Majesty is the noble posture of awareness itself; strength and beauty are the inner gifts housed in the sanctuary of your present consciousness. The 'sanctuary' is your current I AM, the seat of awareness that does not waver. When the text bids you give unto the LORD glory and strength, it is instructing you to return attention to that I AM, to occupy the mind with the feeling of being inherently worthy, powerful, and beautiful. Nations and kindreds represent the manifold thoughts and memories vying for attention; by directing them to the divine Self, you align every part of you with one sovereign state of consciousness. Thus, the events of your day bend toward harmony as your interior state reverberates with glory and strength. This is not distant; it is realized within the present moment, whenever you consent to feel it real and allow it to govern your experiences.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and assume the feeling of being honoured, majestic, strong, and beautiful as your constant state. Stay with that feeling for a moment, letting it revise your inner landscape.
