Rising Defender Within
Psalms 94:16 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm asks who will rise up for me against evildoers. It frames a need for protection and deliverance from iniquity.
Neville's Inner Vision
That question is not about asking a neighbor, but about your own state of consciousness. Who within you will rise up against the evildoers and workers of iniquity? The answer: your I AM, your eternal awareness, rises when you assume the feeling that you are defended by divine presence. The evildoers are not persons separate from you; they are the fears, doubts, and hostile thoughts stirring within. To stand up for you is to stand within the presence of God, to let that presence fill and steady your mind. When you refuse to identify with lack or threat and instead dwell in the assurance of the I AM, you experience deliverance from within. This is not a battle in the outer world but a shift of state: the defender becomes real as you maintain conscious attention on the truth 'I AM' as your own witness and protector. The Psalm invites you to cultivate a consciousness in which righteousness and salvation are constant, and the outer may reflect that inner triumph.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit quietly and, in your own words, declare 'I AM' is the defender; close your eyes and imagine a surge of protective presence rising within you. As you breathe, revise any thought of threat by repeating 'I am protected by the Presence of God' until it feels real.
