Scripture Focus

12Blessed is the man whom thou chastenest, O LORD, and teachest him out of thy law;
13That thou mayest give him rest from the days of adversity, until the pit be digged for the wicked.
Psalms 94:12-13

Biblical Context

The psalm speaks of a blessed person who is trained by the Lord and schooled by the inner law, gaining rest from days of adversity until the pit is digged for the wicked.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the chamber of awareness, I hear the Psalm sing: the blessed man is one who does not chase externals, but permits the I AM to chasten and teach him from the inner law. The word 'chastenest' is not punishment but education—an adjustment of belief, a revision of imagination until the inner weather changes. When you yield to this discipline, you awaken to a rest that does not depend on circumstance. Adversity loses its sting because you interpret it as a signal that the old you is outgrown, a pit already dug for the wicked self, not for others. The 'law' becomes your living pattern of thoughts—loving, orderly, discerning—and with that alignment, doors close on doubt and open within you a stable peace. You are being trained into the consciousness that can endure without frantic effort. The blessing comes as you inhabit the state of the man who accepts discipline and, through it, rests in the I AM’s omnipresent guidance.

Practice This Now

Assume: I am chastened by the inner law and taught by it; rest comes now as the inner weather shifts. Visualize the old self being removed by the earth of divine order, making room for a clear, steady awareness.
