Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm proclaims gladness granted by God's works, and a vow to triumph by recognizing the divine activity behind all I experience.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the seeker who reads Psalm 92:4, the gladness described is not a contingent emotion granted by external favors, but an inner state awakened by the perception that I AM the maker of all appearances. When I say thou, LORD, hast made me glad, I am naming the fact that my awareness, the I AM that reigns within, has formed these experiences by its imaginative acts. The works of thy hands are not distant labs of the universe but the steady, orderly pictures my mind projects—orders, relationships, victories, and joys—through which I live. I triumph not by chasing events, but by consenting to the truth that all that happens is a reverberation of my inner decision. If I feel doubt or hunger, I revise the scene in imagination, imagining the hand of God forming abundance and harmony around me, until that vision feels real in the present. Thus gladness arises as the natural outcome of belief in the omnipresent crafts of the I AM within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly, place your hand on your heart, and declare I AM the I AM. Imagine the works of God as present now within you, and rest in the feeling that this inner craft is shaping your life.
