God promises that those embraced by Him will enjoy long life and will be shown salvation.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this verse, the ‘long life’ is not a timetable but a quality of consciousness—the vitality of the I AM. The speaker is God within you, and ‘him’ is your waking sense of self. To be satisfied is to rest in the awareness that you are eternally sustained by life that cannot die. When God says 'I will show him my salvation,' He is declaring that the result of living from the I AM is a revelation of wholeness—the inner harmony of body, mind, and spirit here and now. Salvation is not future deliverance from some distant danger; it is the immediate alignment of your state with divine Being. If you assume you are already held by this life and this salvation, your outer world rearranges to reflect that inner order. The psalm thus invites faith in the present, not a hope for later. Your imagination becomes the instrument by which you discover that you are already loved, protected, and sustained.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly and repeat: I am the I AM; I have long life; I am shown salvation now, and feel the vitality of that truth as present reality.
