Biblical Context
The psalm describes a soul that loves God and is rewarded with deliverance, exaltation, and a life that reveals salvation. When one calls, God answers and remains present in trouble, honoring the faithful.
Neville's Inner Vision
The verse does not present an external deity apart from you. To set your love upon Me is to fix your gaze on the I AM within, and thus I deliver you; I will set you on high because you have known my Name. When you call upon Me, the answer is the inward response of your own being to your identification with God. I am with you in trouble; I deliver you and honor you—the challenges fade as you persist in the presence of the I AM. With long life I satisfy you, and show you my salvation. Life becomes the consciousness that knows no mere mortal limit; salvation is the turning of imagination into lived experience. Practice the assumption that you are already delivered, exalted, and guided by the God within, and watch your outer circumstances align with the inward revelation. The promise is a law of consciousness: what you fix your attention on becomes your lived reality.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, fix your attention on the I AM within, and consciously assume the state: I am delivered, I am set on high. Then hear the inward answer and rest in the felt sense of long life and salvation.
