Scripture Focus

12So teach us to number our days, that we may apply our hearts unto wisdom.
Psalms 90:12

Biblical Context

The verse asks to become aware of how we spend time so we align our lives with true wisdom.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the inner man, 'number our days' is not arithmetic but a shift of consciousness. Time becomes a stream of moments through which the I AM invites you to choose a wiser current. When you regard each day as a teacher, you are not counting hours but surveying the states you inhabit. The heart is moved toward wisdom only when you assume that wisdom already dwells within you as your natural condition, and you feel it real in the present moment. If you want to apply your heart unto wisdom, you must revise your sense of time by an inner conviction: I now live in a timeless awareness where every moment provides insight. Providence and guidance arise from this inner alignment; you do not chase them, you become them by feeling the reality of wisdom here and now. The psalmist asks for a disciplined attention; you gain it by the simple act of assuming the ending: I am wise now, and this day teaches me. In that frame, the future is a natural outgrowth of the present, not a distant hope.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume the feeling of the mature self: I am wise now; this day is ordered by wisdom. Feel that you have already lived this day from the end, and let that reality drift into the present moment.
