Biblical Context
Psalm 90:1-17 presents God as our timeless dwelling and invites a meditation on mortality and wisdom.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the Psalm, God is the I AM that dwells within you through all generations. The mountains and the earth are not distant places but inner dispositions you have not yet inhabited. To awaken wisdom is to re-enter your own consciousness and claim that you are eternally in God’s house. When the psalm speaks of days and years, it points to your mental time to be rearranged by inner awareness. A thousand years are but a moment in your awareness, and this realization can temper anger and wrath by turning to the mercy that is always present. Teach yourself to number your days by counting each moment as a doorway to wisdom. Return to the I AM, the source of your being, and feel the divine joy as your habitual atmosphere. The beauty of the LORD resting upon you is not a future event but your present state when you align with God’s activity in your mind and let it establish the work of your hands.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the I AM as your dwelling place now; imagine a temple of divine presence within and feel your days reorganized by wisdom.
