Neville's Inner Vision
To Neville’s ear, Psalms 9:1-2 invites us to claim the inner ruler—the I AM—by an undivided attention: with my whole heart means the entire awareness directed toward one good. I will shew forth all thy marvellous works becomes the practice of living as if the inward wonders are already done in the soul; thoughts, feelings, and actions witness the inner works. I will be glad and rejoice in thee is not mere sentiment but alignment: when you attend to that inner ruler, joy arises from within, independent of outer circumstance. I will sing praise to thy name, O thou most High names the supreme I AM within you and makes your daily life sing in harmony with that name. Believe what you declare: you are already the joyous state you praise. By revising the present moment to reflect this state and feeling it as real, you cultivate the life that naturally expresses marvellous works—the harmony, clarity, and power that flow from inside out.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place your full attention on the inner I AM, and say I praise thee with my whole heart, feeling the truth as tangible. Then revise a lingering moment by declaring it now filled with joyous works, and sense the emotion of it—feeling it real in your chest.
