Biblical Context
Psalm 89:20-23 describes God finding and anointing a servant, promising establishment, strength, and protection from enemies—the inner sovereignty of the awakened self.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the stillness of your consciousness, the line 'I have found David my servant' is said to you: you are the David waiting to be awakened by awareness. The holy oil is not an external ceremony but the awareness that you, and you alone, are the anointing in your world. When God says 'with whom my hand shall be established; mine arm also shall strengthen him,' He is describing the I AM settling into a state of correctness within you. Your fear and appearances may call themselves enemies, yet they are but thoughts that rise to be corrected by your inner decision. The enemy cannot exact upon you when the inner king sits in confident union with the divine. The phrase 'beat down his foes before his face' becomes your inner victory over doubt, guilt, or lack, not a cry of external conquest. By assuming the state of kingly right now, you align your feelings, thoughts, and actions with certainty, and reality bends to the established order of your inward state.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, breathe, and declare: I am the I AM, the inner king established by awareness. Now imagine a radiant oil of consciousness washing over you and see your surroundings aligning to your inner certainty, shielding you from perceived foes.
