Biblical Context
Psalm 88:5 expresses a feeling of being free among the dead and cut off, as if abandoned by God. It prompts a shift from external memory and power to the I AM present in consciousness.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 88:5 speaks of being free among the dead, as the slain in the grave, forgotten and cut off from the hand of God. In the Neville light, this is a misperception of consciousness, not a verdict of fate. The psalmist's fear reveals a state of mind that treats memory, support, and life as things outside the self. Remembering is the vibration of I AM, the always-present awareness that I am. When I feel forgotten, I am simply clinging to a belief of separation from the divine hand that sustains all. I need not argue with the feeling; I revise it by entering the assumption that the I AM is always here, and that the dead are only dormant possibilities within, awaiting awakening by a new belief. I am not among the dead; I am the living awareness through which life moves. By assuming the hand of God rests upon me now, I dissolve the sense of separation and awaken to a reality where suffering is transmuted into light, power flows, and I am kept in by divine presence.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and affirm I AM held by the I AM until it registers as real; feel the divine hand supporting you now.
