Psalms 87:5-6

Biblical Context

Psalm 87:5–6 speaks of Zion as the place where certain souls are born, and God records their citizenship. It signals an inner birth into the Kingdom.

Neville's Inner Vision

Zion in this moment is the state of consciousness wherein I wake to the presence of God as I AM. To be born there means I imagine myself as one whose origin is the inner city of divine life; the Highest Himself establishes me by my assumption of that state. The LORD shall count when He writeth up the people that I am born in Zion; my name is inscribed in the inner census as a citizen of the city of God. There is no external tally to validate me; the validation is the abiding sense of presence, unity, and covenant loyalty that I live from. When I realize I am already there, the outer world begins to reflect the count I have made within. Zion is not a place apart from me but the living I within the living I. I am born there; the kingdom is my current weather; the presence of God animates every moment.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and assume I am born in Zion; feel the Highest establishing me now. Let the inner census write my name, dwelling in the presence as my daily reality.
