Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Zion is loved by the Lord and spoken of as a city formed by God; the passage also says that those born in Zion share in its life, and that life’s springs flow from within Zion.
Neville's Inner Vision
Zion is not a city of stone but your inner state. The Lord loves the gates of Zion because they are the openings of awareness through which the I AM can flow. Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God, when you acknowledge that consciousness is the city and you are its sovereign ruler. The lines about Rahab and Babylon, Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia are not about distant nations; they are the varied thoughts, memories, and habits within you. When you know me—when you realize your true nature as the I AM—the highest within you shall establish Zion and set its order. The statement that this man was born there is your inner birth, the moment your awareness chooses Zion as home. The Lord shall count the people who dwell in Zion; to count means to recognize, to affirm your state of consciousness. And then—this is the jewel—“all my springs are in thee.” The springs are the life-energy, the inspiration, the impulse to action that arise from your interior state. If you dwell in Zion, the outside world reconfigures to match that inner harmony.
Practice This Now
Close the eyes, place a hand on the solar plexus, and affirm: 'I am born in Zion; my gates are opened; all my springs are within me.' Then visualize walking into a radiant city within, feeling the life flowing.
