Scripture Focus

1His foundation is in the holy mountains.
2The LORD loveth the gates of Zion more than all the dwellings of Jacob.
3Glorious things are spoken of thee, O city of God. Selah.
4I will make mention of Rahab and Babylon to them that know me: behold Philistia, and Tyre, with Ethiopia; this man was born there.

6The LORD shall count, when he writeth up the people, that this man was born there. Selah.
Psalms 87:1-6

Biblical Context

Zion is described as a foundation on the holy mountains, cherished by the Lord, with glorious things spoken of the city. It speaks of birth and establishment in Zion, recorded by the Most High.

Neville's Inner Vision

Zion here is not a distant city but a state of consciousness fixed upon the holy mountains—the immutable foundation of your awareness. The Lord loves the gates of Zion because they are the doors through which perception enters and glory is spoken of as a present reality, not a distant dream. When the psalmist says this man was born there, it is your inner self declaring that your thoughts and capacities were born within the city of God. Rahab and Babylon symbolize old fears and memories you once entertained; yet the text also names Philistia, Tyre, and Ethiopia, signaling that even outward appearances are not barriers to birth in Zion for those who know God within. The Highest Himself shall establish her; your Most High Self inscribes the new birth as permanent. The Lord shall count, when He writeth up the people, that this man was born there—your inner record confirms the truth you have chosen to inhabit. Selah invites you to rest in the realization that you are already born in the holy city, and the foundation is yours to dwell in now.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe, and assume, 'I am born in Zion.' Feel the foundation of the holy mountains beneath you and rest in the certainty that your Highest Self has established you there.
