Biblical Context

Psalm 86:8-10 proclaims that there is no rival to God and that his wondrous works are unique. It also envisions all nations worshiping before the Lord and glorifying his name.

Neville's Inner Vision

To the mystic who hears Psalms 86:8-10 in the key of inner life, there are no other gods but the I AM you awaken to in consciousness. The line 'Among the gods there is none like unto thee' is a statement about states of mind. Any rival image—fear, lack, pride—pretends to sit on a throne, but it is merely a shifting belief. The claim 'thou art God alone' declares that there is one source of power in you, one order—your own awareness. When you accept that the nations you have made shall come and worship before thee, you are not predicting a future event; you are recognizing that every thought and perception you entertain is drawn to the one divine center you call I AM. Your imagination is the workshop where order is produced; your worship is attention aligned to that center. Imaginatively kingdom-creating acts unfold as you dwell in the truth that God’s works are your works, and your life becomes the living proof of that unity.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Sit quietly and assume the I AM as the sole creator within you. Feel its order flowing through every thought and revise any sense of separation by declaring, 'There is only God in me now.'
