Scripture Focus

7Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation.
Psalms 85:7

Biblical Context

This verse asks God to show mercy and grant salvation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within the psalm the cry is not for a distant act of mercy but for a revealed state of consciousness. When I say, 'Shew us thy mercy, O LORD, and grant us thy salvation,' I am naming my inner condition. The LORD I appeal to is the I AM within—the eternal you, the awareness that never falters. To pray is to align with that I AM, to feel that mercy is already mine in the present, not something to be earned tomorrow. Salvation is simply the shift of inner weather from fear to love, from lack to fullness. As I assume that mercy is here now and that I am saved by the truth of my own beloved nature, my outer world begins to echo that inner state. The verse thus becomes a deliberate act of imagination: by dwelling in the feeling of grace, I draw that grace into form. In truth, the only 'need' is to recognize who I am and allow the inward mercy to set all outward conditions.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and silently declare: 'I am mercy. I am salvation now.' Maintain that feeling for 2–3 minutes, then observe how your day begins to align with that inner reality.
