Dwelling in the Inner House
Psalms 84:4-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 84 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Psalm 84:4-5 speaks of those who dwell in God's presence as blessed and continually praising, and of the man whose strength is in God, with the heart housing the ways of God.
Neville's Inner Vision
Blessedness in Psalm 84:4-5 is not a reward to be earned; it is the natural posture of one who rests in God as his I AM. Dwell in thy house is an instruction to reside in a state of consciousness where God alone is perceived as present. When you assume this state, you become still in praise, not by effort but by recognizing the ever-present reality that you are the I AM experiencing itself as God. The strength of the man in this reading is the strength God supplies from within, the energy by which you act in the world. In his heart are the ways of them: your inner dispositions align with the divine patterns, simply because you are now conscious of them. Selah, the pause, invites you to linger in that awareness, letting the inner movement resonate as continuous gratitude. So, you do not seek to obtain God's favor; you realize you already are the house of God, and the house is filled with praise, power, and the paths of divine activity.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume the state: I am dwelling in the house of God now. Feel the stillness and praise rising from this awareness; declare quietly, I am the I AM, and my heart holds the ways of God.
