Inner Confederacy, Inner Kingdom
Psalms 83:5-8 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 83 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm speaks of a confederacy of nations against Israel, but psychologically those nations are inner thoughts of separation opposing your awareness of the I AM. It invites you to see the outer drama as a projection of mind.
Neville's Inner Vision
Verse 83:5–8 speaks of a confederacy, a unity of nations arrayed against an outward sign of God’s favor. Yet in the lamp of consciousness, the ‘nations’ are mine: fears, doubts, habits, and inherited stories that march against my awareness of the I AM. Each tribe—the Edomites, Ishmaelites, Moabites, Hagarenes, Gebal, Ammon, Amalek, the Philistines with Tyre, and Assur joined with Lot’s children—becomes a facet of a shared belief in separation from God. The Selah invites a pause, a moment to notice that the inner drama is but a movement of mind, not a reality outside. When I acknowledge that all these forces reside in my dream, I do not deny the world; I recognize them as echoes of a dream of exile from the Kingdom. The Covenant and Promise remain unshaken in me, for I am the I AM, the sole author of the image I behold. As I choose to align with that inner sovereignty, the confederacy loses power and the Kingdom rises, restoring my heart from exile to its rightful home within.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, declare I AM, and feel your unity with all that is. Revise the scene by welcoming the Kingdom within and watching the confederacy dissolve.
