Biblical Context
Psalm 82:7-8 declares that mortal rulers pass away while divine judgment rises, and God will inherit the nations.
Neville's Inner Vision
In the Neville sense, the line does not describe external rulers so much as states of consciousness. 'Ye shall die like men' marks the old belief that your sense of self is bound by mortality, a finite personality separated from the I AM. 'Arise, O God, judge the earth' becomes the moment you refuse to let appearances govern you and invite the inner decree of your true ruler—the I AM within—into action. When you refuse to identify with the 'princes' of limitation, you activate a new inner court, where your awareness judges every scene by a single standard: alignment with the divine state you already inhabit. The earth, your experience, begins to respond as the nation you have claimed in imagination. As you dwell in that awareness, the nations bow not to a distant deity but to the living I AM within you. The kingdoms of doubt bow to the king you imagine as present, and the outward changes reflect your inner verdict: you have inherited the sphere of consciousness you choose.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit in stillness and assume you are the I AM, the ruler of every scene. Repeat quietly, 'I AM the ruler of this earth; I judge by the state I inhabit,' until you feel the shift as inner decree becomes outer fact.
