Awakening the Inner King

Psalms 82:7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 82 in context

Scripture Focus

7But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Psalms 82:7

Biblical Context

The verse declares that the mighty will die like ordinary men, losing their exalted status.

Neville's Inner Vision

Understand that the 'mighty' are only states of consciousness you entertain. The 'princes' are the outward dramatizations—power, pride, fear—that push you into the illusion of separation. The psalm's line is a call to return to the I AM, the eternal ruler behind every scene. In truth, there is no outside power that can dethrone you; you enthrone yourself by holding to the idea that you are the I AM—awareness that creates and sustains all. When you assume the feeling of your true nature, you revise the scene from 'I am a mortal prince who can fall' to 'I am the undying I AM, dwelling in the kingdom of God.' Imagination is the instrument of this undoing of death; what you imagine about yourself and your world becomes experience. So, you transform mortality into a consciousness of permanence by living as the I AM here and now, and the inner kingdom manifests as your outer reality.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, breathe, and declare, 'I am the I AM.' Then revise a scene where you are king of your inner realm, feeling the reality of that sovereign presence until it fills your awareness.
