Read Psalms 82 in context

Scripture Focus

6I have said, Ye are gods; and all of you are children of the most High.
7But ye shall die like men, and fall like one of the princes.
Psalms 82:6-7

Biblical Context

Gods are declared to be divine beings, children of the Most High, sharing in a godlike dignity. Yet the psalm warns that they shall die like men and fall from power, a reminder of mortality and the fragility of outward authority.

Neville's Inner Vision

Your inner state is the Gospel. When the words 'ye are gods' arise, they point not to some external sovereign but to the fact that your awareness is already divine. The Most High named here is the nature of your own I AM, and the 'princes' are merely outer forms that appear to govern when you identify with separation. The warning 'die like men' is therefore not a prophecy of death, but a symptom of misidentification: you fall from power as you forget who you really are. The cure is a revival of consciousness through imagination. Return to the feeling of the I AM, nurture the conviction of your divine birthright, and let the sense of separation dissolve. As you dwell in that inner reality, your circumstances will answer with greater coherence, love, and vitality, not by changing God but by changing your notion of self. In this inner kingdom, you are not subject to death by the body or the world; you are the living, aware God within.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly, close your eyes, and repeat, 'I am the I AM, divine within me,' until that sense fills you. Then imagine a bright inner light expanding from your chest, dissolving the feeling of mortal limitation as you stand in your true divine identity.
