Scripture Focus

18So will not we go back from thee: quicken us, and we will call upon thy name.
Psalms 80:18

Biblical Context

The verse expresses commitment to remain with God and asks for spiritual quickening so that the people may faithfully call on His name.

Neville's Inner Vision

In this line we witness a conscious pledge: we will not turn away from God, but will be quickened into living awareness. Quickening is not asking a distant deity to awaken, but stirring the inner life until the I AM stands bright in memory and deed. When we say, 'quicken us,' we are really saying, 'let me awaken to my own divine nature, let my mind be kept awake to the presence I AM.' And when we move to 'we will call upon thy name,' we acknowledge that every prayer is a calling of the self to itself—the remembrance that God is the within, the one who answers as the I AM within. This is renewal, the true New Creation: a return to wholeness, not a change of circumstance. As you dwell in this consciousness, you need not chase after forms; you simply align with the feeling that the wish is not apart from you, and it awakens in form as you call upon the name that you already are.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and feel the inner quickening; repeatedly dwell in the conviction 'I AM' and imagine yourself calling upon God with renewed vitality, as if already so.
