Biblical Context
Psalms 80:16-17 speaks of the old self being burned away by a divine rebuke and the rise of the inner man empowered by the right hand of God. It invites you to align your consciousness with the I AM to reclaim inner authority.
Neville's Inner Vision
Imagine this psalm as a map of your inner city. The fire that burns and the cutting down speak of the old pictures you believed about yourself that no longer serve you. The rebuke of thy countenance is the turning of your attention to the I AM within, the single witness you call by name God Presence. When you feel the heat of purification you are not punished but released from a former self. The phrase let thy hand be upon the man of thy right hand points to a new state you can occupy now. The right hand is power and blessing. The man of thy right hand the son of man whom thou madest strong for thyself is your inner man fashioned for authority, made strong by your recognition of the I AM. By dwelling in this state you are setting the terms for your life, not by outer events but by inner alignment. The events then move because you have allowed a new move to operate from consciousness. Your world becomes the demonstration of this inner sovereign state.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Sit quietly for five minutes and imagine the right hand of God resting on your inner man. Feel it as strength and calm. Assume I AM here now and the son of man strong for the source within you.
