Inner Dominion of Man

Psalms 8:4-6 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 8 in context

Scripture Focus

4What is man, that thou art mindful of him? and the son of man, that thou visitest him?
5For thou hast made him a little lower than the angels, and hast crowned him with glory and honour.
6Thou madest him to have dominion over the works of thy hands; thou hast put all things under his feet:
Psalms 8:4-6

Biblical Context

Psalm 8:4-6 asks what man is to God. It then declares that he is crowned with glory and given dominion over creation.

Neville's Inner Vision

Verse 4 asks what man is that God mindful of him; in your consciousness you answer: you exist as the I AM. God is not a distant father; He is the awareness that animates you, and to be mindful of him is to attend to the inner state you are now. To visit the son of man is to shift your attention to the state in which you already reign. The phrase 'hast crowned him with glory and honour' is a present-tense decree about your true self, the image and likeness you embody. When the psalm says you rule over the works of the hands, translate that into an act of imagination: you put all things under your feet by consenting to the reality you intend. Do not seek outside; revise your day, feeling the reality of dominion as you breathe. Your world becomes the outward sign of your inner crown as you dwell in the I AM and let your imaginal acts confirm the truth.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes, take a breath, and assume the state of dominion. Imagine yourself crowned with glory and feel that all things bend to your imagined will, now.
