The psalm pleads for help, deliverance, and cleansing of sins for the sake of God's name.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within this cry, salvation is presented as a state of consciousness, not a distant event. The God of our salvation is the I AM within you, the immediate sensation of being alive in God. By praying 'for the glory of Thy name,' you declare your life to reflect the divine nature you already possess, inviting your outer circumstances to align with that inner reality. Deliverance arises when you shift attention from the problem to the presence; imagine yourself already free, and the outer conditions respond to the inner state. Purging sins becomes the interior cleansing of mistaken identifications—the sense of separation from life and source; renew that sense by dwelling in the truth that you are one with the I AM. The act is mercy and reconciliation: forgiveness is the inner alignment that returns you to your original estate. Turning toward this inner God is not a gesture of contrition but a reorientation of consciousness, so the heart discovers mercy, and life becomes a vessel through which the divine flows. This is the pathway from request to realization: God within delivering you now.
Practice This Now
Sit quietly, close your eyes, and repeat 'I AM' until you feel the inner presence. Then assume you are already delivered and purified, letting that state color your day.
