Biblical Context
Psalms 79:7 declares that enemies have devoured Jacob and destroyed his dwelling, portraying oppression as a ruin of his inner sanctuary.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed as a state of consciousness, the line shows that what ravages Jacob is not merely a nation, but a belief within you that your sanctuary has been overrun. Jacob represents your core self, the inner dwelling where awareness lives. When you hear 'they have devoured,' interpret it as the thoughts, fears, and conditions you have unwittingly consented to in the moment. The ruin is therefore an inner picture: a mind identified with lack and threat. But the Presence within—the I AM, God in you—remains unimpaired and unthreatened. The revival comes not from changing external events but from changing your inner assumption. As you revise, you declare that your inner dwelling is protected, restored, and occupied by love and light. Close the eyes, feel the truth of I AM now, and imagine the walls rebuilt and shining, while you dwell within as the 'I' who is never conquered. Persist in this feeling-real assumption, and the world will follow the inward change and restore what seems to be ruined.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes, declare 'I am the dwelling of God, unassailed,' and revise the scene in your imagination so Jacob's dwelling is restored. Feel the assurance of the I AM until it becomes your lived experience.
