Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Psalm 79:6-10 pleads for judgment on enemies and for God’s name to be known in the land. It also seeks mercy, forgiveness, and deliverance, inviting a turning toward restoration.
Neville's Inner Vision
Psalm 79:6-10 speaks to your inner life. Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name, becomes the moment you release fear-based thoughts that do not know the I AM. The devouring of Jacob stands for old beliefs that rend your sense of unity; to lay waste its dwelling place is to dissolve those identities that say you are separate from God. O remember not against us former iniquities invites you to forgive the past and let tender mercies speedily prevent you in the now—where you are brought very low in belief but not in reality. Help us, O God of our salvation, for the glory of thy name, becomes the awareness that the light of the I AM shining through you is your salvation and power. Deliver us and purge away our sins, for thy name's sake, becomes the inner cleansing by which sin-laden thoughts are washed away in the awareness of your divine nature. Wherefore should the heathen say, Where is their God? let him be known among the heathen in our sight by the revenging of the blood of thy servants which is shed, is the moment you witness the proof that the I AM is sovereign within.
Practice This Now
Imaginative Act: Close your eyes, breathe deeply, and assume the I AM is now governing your life; silently declare, 'I am delivered, I am forgiven, and mercy flows through every area of my life.' Sense the feeling of this truth until it feels present.
