Inner Judgment and the Kingdom Within

Psalms 79:5-7 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 79 in context

Scripture Focus

5How long, LORD? wilt thou be angry for ever? shall thy jealousy burn like fire?
6Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen that have not known thee, and upon the kingdoms that have not called upon thy name.
7For they have devoured Jacob, and laid waste his dwelling place.
Psalms 79:5-7

Biblical Context

The psalm laments divine anger and asks for judgment on the nations that harmed Israel. It presents exile and ruin as consequences of a people's choices.

Neville's Inner Vision

Suppose the lament is not a cry against a distant deity but a call within your own I AM to wake to a higher state. In Neville’s manner, the armies and ruin are the outer effects of an inner belief you have accepted as real. The question How long will you be angry? asks you to examine how long you have allowed a troubled feeling to occupy your awareness. The jealous fire is not God’s fire but your own resistance to change, your reluctance to yield the feeling of separation you have treated as permanent. Pour out thy wrath upon the heathen becomes a sign that the ‘heathen’ stands for unrecognized aspects of yourself—the kingdoms not calling upon thy name are dormant potentials you’ve neglected to imagine into form. Jacob’s devouring and destruction are the old self—outdated stories, fears, and memories you keep repeating. Begin with one new assumption: you are the I AM, the Lord of your consciousness, and every scene is a projection of your inner state. Practice revision and feel-it-real, seeing the ruin dissolve as you affirm the inner Kingdom already established within.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and revise the scene: affirm I AM the ruler of my consciousness, and see the devastation dissolve into order. Feel the relief as the inner Kingdom arises within you.
