Inner Restoration Through Imagination

Psalms 79:2-3 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 79 in context

Scripture Focus

2The dead bodies of thy servants have they given to be meat unto the fowls of the heaven, the flesh of thy saints unto the beasts of the earth.
3Their blood have they shed like water round about Jerusalem; and there was none to bury them.
Psalms 79:2-3

Biblical Context

Enemies have slain the servants and left their bodies unburied. Blood runs around Jerusalem as the city faces a desecration with no burial offered.

Neville's Inner Vision

Within your inner theater, this lament reveals states of consciousness that have fallen into neglect. The 'dead bodies' are the scattered, unclaimed qualities of your being—the truths, virtues, and desires you once honored, now left to decay. The 'fowls of the heaven' and 'beasts of the earth' are restless thoughts that feast on neglected parts when you forget the I AM. The 'blood shed like water' is the life-force spilling through fear and sorrow as you identify with separation rather than the unity of your mind. The 'round about Jerusalem' marks the city of your inner beliefs, the boundaries within which you have believed your life to be lived; 'there was none to bury them' speaks of a moment when you forgot to tend and reincorporate these parts. But the truth is fixed in your consciousness: the I AM remains intact, and you can reverse the scene by assuming a new order. Decide now that every neglected part is claimed, restored, and re-harmonized by the living light of your God-given awareness. In this inner act, you reestablish justice, endurance, and mercy in the heart of your inner city.

Practice This Now

Imaginative_act: Close your eyes and assume the state I AM within me—bury the old neglect and awaken the inner city. Feel the dawn of enduring life, justice, and perseverance as your inner reality now.
