Biblical Context
God refuses the tabernacle of Joseph and the tribe of Ephraim, and chooses the tribe of Judah, the mount Zion he loves.
Neville's Inner Vision
Viewed through Neville’s lens, this Psalm is not about geography but the inner state you inhabit. God's refusal of Joseph and Ephraim points to turning away from outward tokens of protection and heritage, and the deliberate choice of a center that carries authority. Judah represents the vitality, praise, and sovereignty of consciousness; Zion is the inner kingdom where the I AM resides. The verse invites you to stop leaning on old identities or external forms and to decide, in imagination, to reside on the mount that God loves. When you align with Zion, you are not awaiting permission from without; you become the ruler, the one who names reality. The act of choosing is an act of revision: you affirm that your present experiences are the fruit of a state you deliberately occupy. If fear or limitation arises, reinterpret it as a misalignment with Judah’s inner kingship and step back into the feeling of being seated on Zion, where harmony, order, and Presence reign. Observe that the favored state is always within you, awaiting your assumption.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume Zion as your inner throne; declare I am Judah, I govern from the I AM, and rest there for a few breaths.
