When God Withdraws Within
Psalms 78:59-61 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
God’s anger in the psalm leads to Israel’s tabernacle at Shiloh being forsaken and its strength and glory handed over to the enemy.
Neville's Inner Vision
I read Psalm 78:59-61 as a parable for the inner man, not a geographic incident. The anger of God is the surge of awareness that occurs when I mistake outward events for reality. Shiloh and the tabernacle represent the center in me where I acknowledge the I AM. When I cling to external power—positions, appearances, and conditions—I hand over 'strength' and 'glory' to the so-called enemy of fear, doubt, and limitation. The psalm’s withdrawal is not a final verdict but a call to reorient my consciousness. In truth, God resides within; the I AM remains untouched by outer storms. By abandoning the belief that life depends on luck or circumstance, I reestablish the tabernacle in my heart. Strength and glory return as I recognize that all power and honor arise from within, not from without. The 'enemy's hand' becomes the arena where I prove my willingness to inhabit the inner temple and keep the I AM awake, dwelling in the awareness that I am God expressing through me.
Practice This Now
Assume the truth: 'I am the tabernacle of God within me.' Feel it real now by breathing slowly and envisioning the inner sanctuary reestablished, with strength and glory returning to my consciousness.
