Inner Plagues, Inner Providence
Psalms 78:44-47 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verses describe a sequence of divine judgments—rivers turned to blood, swarms, famine of crops, and ruined vines—presented as consequences of rebellion.
Neville's Inner Vision
To the ear of the awakened I AM, the words of Psalms become not a history to pin on others, but a map of your own inner weather. What you call 'rivers' are your streams of feeling and life-energy; when fear or scarcity invades, those rivers turn to blood and you cannot drink the vitality you crave. The flies and frogs are intrusive thoughts and denials that devour your peace; the caterpillar and locust are the waste of energy, the claims of lack that strip your labor of fruit. The hail and frost that destroy vines and trees signify assaults of doubt that freeze your creative growth. Yet notice: these are not external judgments apart from you, but movements within consciousness you must observe and revise. When you acknowledge that God—the I AM—is the sole source and king of your life, you rewrite the scene. Providence becomes your inner law rather than a distant event, and righteousness flows as you assume your unity with infinite supply.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and declare I AM the life of God in me; my rivers run clear with abundant supply. Feel it until the sense of lack dissolves, revise the scene by imagining the streams returning to drinkable calm, and dwell in that consciousness.
