Read Psalms 78 in context

Scripture Focus

13He divided the sea, and caused them to pass through; and he made the waters to stand as an heap.
14In the daytime also he led them with a cloud, and all the night with a light of fire.
Psalms 78:13-14

Biblical Context

Psalm 78:13-14 depicts God parting the sea and guiding Israel with a daytime cloud and night fire—the inner movement of guidance within consciousness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Observe that the parted sea is not an external event, but a shift in your inner state. When you accept the I AM as your sole reality, the imagined wave of limitation moves aside, and the waters stand in orderly heaps of memory—calm, unmoving, reliable. By day, you are led by a cloud of awareness; your attention rests on the steady presence within, you move with quiet confidence. By night, a fire lights the way; your imagination awakens with visions that confirm you have already crossed from doubt to certainty. Providence is not a distant power, but the natural order of consciousness responding to your assumed state. If you dwell in feeling that you are now free, you become the witnesses of the crossing; the internal sea becomes your ally, not your obstacle. The act of faith is not seeking, but remembrance: remember you are I AM; remember you are already where you wish to be.

Practice This Now

Sit in quiet and assume the feeling: I am already across this sea; the cloud of awareness leads me by day and the fire of imagination lights my path by night. Then close your eyes and dwell in that state for a few minutes, letting the sense of crossing settle into your body.
