Biblical Context
Psalm 74:9-12 expresses a sense of spiritual abandonment: no signs, no prophet, and the foe's taunt. It affirms God's ancient kingship and his ongoing salvation in the world.
Neville's Inner Vision
Notice that the verse speaks of absence and accusation, but these are not outer happenings alone; they are inner states you entertain. When you feel there are no signs, no prophet, and the adversary mocks, you are simply conscious of a former condition. The line 'For God is my King of old, working salvation in the midst of the earth' declares the truth your I AM knows: the king within has always reigned, and salvation is now being wrought in your scene. Neville would say you do not seek salvation from outside, you awaken to it by assuming the end and living from the end. The right hand, once withdrawn, represents limitation you must disbelieve; pluck it out by turning from fear and insisting your inner sovereignty governs every event. In this light, the present world is the stage where your inner king exercises authority, creating rescue, harmony, and order. The signs you long for are only the outward expression of an inner conviction: you are the ruler, the savior, the one who makes a way by your imagination. Your task is to dwell in the awareness that you are the king in the earth, and salvation unfolds through your conscious state.
Practice This Now
Assume the feeling, 'I AM king now.' Close your eyes, revise your sense of self as the living I AM, and imagine a scene where every obstacle dissolves and harmony manifests.
