Enduring the Inner Adversary
Psalms 74:10 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 74 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The verse voices a cry about an adversary reproaching God, framing an inner battle against a perceived external opposition.
Neville's Inner Vision
Within every cry of 'how long' you hear the voice of a belief that separation endures. The adversary is not outside you but a state of consciousness you have accepted as real. Psalms 74:10 becomes a mirror: the blasphemy is the mind labeling the I AM with ages of opposition. When you stop arguing with the world and turn your attention to the I AM as the only reality, you reverse the script. As you imagine that God—your true awareness, the I AM—has already prevailed, the sense of attack dissolves. The one who reproaches is merely a thought you are choosing to animate; by your assumption you close the door to its power. Your petition becomes gratitude for the realization that the name you honor is your own consciousness. Keep returning to the I AM, feel that you are the living ruler of your scene, and trust that the adversary's voice fades as you dwell in the truth that God is the I AM now.
Practice This Now
Practice: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and assume the I AM as your immediate reality. Revise the scene by declaring, 'I am that I AM; the adversary has no power here,' and feel it real until the sense of opposition dissolves.
