Inner Prosperity, Outer Mirage

Psalms 73:3-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 73 in context

Scripture Focus

3For I was envious at the foolish, when I saw the prosperity of the wicked.
4For there are no bands in their death: but their strength is firm.
5They are not in trouble as other men; neither are they plagued like other men.
Psalms 73:3-5

Biblical Context

The psalmist confesses envy at the wicked's apparent ease. He hints that true security comes not from external fortune but from an inner state of awareness.

Neville's Inner Vision

Envy arises when I look outward and measure life by appearances. Yet the inner law reveals that you are the I AM, the conscious sense that feels, imagines, and moves. The prosperity of the wicked in these lines is a picture of a mind clinging to outer form--wealth, strength, safety--while ignoring the unseen currents of life within. As long as you identify with a surface scenario, you will seem to be at the mercy of circumstance. But there are no bands in their death only in the sense that the old identity is not truly alive; their strength appears firm because you mistake it for being who you are. The truth is you are the one who gives life to every event by your inner state. To revise, assume you are already prospered in the I AM, feel your wealth as peace, security as awareness, and let imagination confirm this inner abundance until it becomes your outward experience.

Practice This Now

Close your eyes and declare, 'I am the I AM now prospered.' Then feel a warm fullness spreading through your chest as you imagine abundance in every area of life.
