Psalms 73:27-28 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 73 in context

Scripture Focus

27For, lo, they that are far from thee shall perish: thou hast destroyed all them that go a whoring from thee.
28But it is good for me to draw near to God: I have put my trust in the Lord GOD, that I may declare all thy works.
Psalms 73:27-28

Biblical Context

The psalm contrasts those far from God who perish with the speaker who draws near and trusts in the Lord, announcing the works of God.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the inner theater of your mind, 'far' and 'near' are states of consciousness. To be far from God is to entertain separation from the I AM; to draw near is to assume oneness with the divine presence. When I trust the Lord GOD, I align with the I AM so that distance dissolves and every moment becomes a declaration of His works. Imagination writes the day; perception follows. By refusing to abandon the sense of divine presence, I cultivate an inner nearness that makes even outward events testify to God’s activity. The verse becomes a practical map: inhabit the state of being one with God, and the outer world rearranges itself to reflect that inner unity.

Practice This Now

Sit quietly and assume the feeling of the I AM as your own presence now. Revise any sense of distance by affirming, 'I am near to God, and God is near to me,' then rest in that truth for a minute.
