Inner Provision Versus Envy
Psalms 73:1-5 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 73 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
The psalm contrasts God's goodness to the pure-hearted with the speaker's near-slip caused by envy of the wicked; outward prosperity masks inner doubt.
Neville's Inner Vision
Truly, in Neville's ear, the line 'Truly God is good to Israel, even to such as are of a clean heart' becomes an invitation to locate Israel inside your own consciousness—the clean heart that recognizes the I AM as its very life. When the psalmist says 'my feet were almost gone,' you hear a moment of collapse into lack, a belief that your state is defined by what the senses show. Envy of the foolish, seeing the prosperity of the wicked, is not about others; it is a mis-tuned vibration in your own consciousness that mistakes appearance for truth. The so-called bands in death and the notion of firm strength echo the impression of outer security, yet Neville would remind you that true security resides in inner alignment with God, the unconditioned I AM. Therefore, revise: the good you seek is already your present fact in consciousness. God is good to the clean heart because the clean heart is God’s own image named in you. Do not resist appearances; restore your seeing by dwelling in the reality that your inner state governs every circumstance.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, close your eyes, and repeat in present tense: 'I am the I AM; abundance and safety flow to me now.' Feel the reality of that state as if it were already true.
