Psalms 72:14 - A Neville Goddard interpretation

Read Psalms 72 in context

Scripture Focus

14He shall redeem their soul from deceit and violence: and precious shall their blood be in his sight.
Psalms 72:14

Biblical Context

Psalm 72:14 speaks of God's rescue of the soul from deceit and violence, and of the blood of the righteous being precious in His sight.

Neville's Inner Vision

In the Neville mind, the verse is not about distant events but the inner drama of your own consciousness. Deceit and violence are states you have believed about yourself; they are thoughts that have claimed your attention and stirred fear. The promise is that the I AM, your eternal awareness, will redeem your soul from those imprisoning thoughts. When you refuse to identify with deceit and struggle, you release the life-energy—your blood, the sign of living value—into the divine sight that makes you precious. To God’s eye, you are not a sinner in need of punishment but a child of Imago Dei, already worthy, already seen as whole. Redemption comes as a shift in feeling and assumption: you imagine a power greater than the problem working within you, and you dwell in the feeling of being rescued, righteous, and intact. Your daily weather of fear gives way to trust as you align with that inner authority, and your life begins to reflect justice, truth, and dignity. Remember: the outer world is the echo of your inner state; refine the state, and the world will conform.

Practice This Now

Imaginative Act: Close your eyes and declare in present tense, 'I am redeemed now by the I AM; deceit and violence no longer govern me.' Then dwell in the sensation of being rescued, and imagine your life-blood shining with sacred worth in the eyes of God.
