Inner Greatness and Comfort
Psalms 71:21 - A Neville Goddard interpretation
Read Psalms 71 in context
Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
It promises that inner greatness will grow and a comforting presence will surround you on all sides.
Neville's Inner Vision
Place yourself in the awareness that God is the I AM within you, and that the words 'increase my greatness' describe a shift in your state of consciousness. Greatness is not an external achievement but the quality of your inner life - confidence, clarity, and dignity - widening its circumference as you nurture faith in your rightful, indwelling presence. The promise 'comfort me on every side' is the surrounding grace of the I AM, a soft boundary of safety your imagination is invited to insist exists. When you dwell there, imagination becomes cause; your experiences bend to the tone you maintain. The Psalm is a guide for revision: assume you are already greater, favored, and comforted; refuse lack; let gratitude and expectancy fill your heart. Persist, and your inner state radiates outward, drawing situations, people, and opportunities that reflect this expanded self. You are under grace; your essential worth - your Imago Dei - is increasingly real to you as a living, breathing reality.
Practice This Now
Close your eyes and assume you are already the greater self, surrounded by grace. Feel the I AM presence enfold you and revise any sense of lack by declaring, 'I AM increases my greatness and comforts me on every side.'
