Scripture Focus
Biblical Context
Psalm 67:1–2 pleads for divine mercy and blessing, and for God's light to rest on us so that His way and saving health may be known and heal the nations.
Neville's Inner Vision
Beloved, the psalm is not about seeking favors from a distant deity, but about awakening the I AM that you are. 'God be merciful unto us' becomes a turn of your attention toward compassion inside; forgiveness and mercy are states you enter, not gifts doled from outside. 'and bless us; and cause his face to shine upon us' is the gentle assertion that your own awareness can be blessed—your inner light, your wholeness, your face shining with the living presence of I AM, a radiant Selah that pauses and confirms. When this light rests upon you, the world you know is seen through a new color: the belief that you are blessed becomes your condition, not a future event. The line 'That thy way may be known upon earth' declares that the way you live inwardly becomes a discovery on the earth; your thoughts, moods, and choices reveal a path others can walk. 'thy saving health among all nations' points to the healing power released by your awakened state, a health that touches others as you persist in the truth of your own realization. In sum, personal transformation becomes collective salvation when the I AM shines.
Practice This Now
Imaginative act: Sit quietly, place awareness on I AM, declare 'I am merciful, I am blessed, I am the light shining upon me.' Feel it as real now; then imagine your way being known on earth and healing spreading to nations.
