To Psalm 66:18, the verse teaches that prayer arises only when the heart is free of self-regarding guilt. If you harbor iniquity in your heart, you are listening through a filter that distorts the message; the I AM God within you answers in proportion to the alignment of your inner atmosphere. When you assume you are already free of that burden, you clear the channel; the sounds of life begin to resonate with the integrity of your true nature. Repentance here is not penalty but turning of attention—returning from the imagined separation to the unified consciousness you truly are. Forgiveness begins inward, not as an external act, but as the acceptance that the past no longer defines your present. As you revise the memory of wrong as forgiven, you create a new vibration; hearing becomes effortless because your heart and mind are one in the I AM. All petition is answered in the moment you return to that state, and you are heard because you are the hearing itself.
